ACTIVITIES OF NATIONAL MINORITIES' POLITICAL PARTIES

National minorities' political parties represent, articulate and protect interest of their compatriots. The most numerous and organized are political patties of Bosniaks (Muslims), Hungarians and Albanians inhabited in geographically concentrated and border areas in Sanjak, Vojvodina, south Serbia and in Kosovo and Metohija. The paper points on leading parties of national minorities, as well as main characteristics of their activity in past fifteen years. Manu similarities between parties of national minorities exist in Serbia, but also and certain differences in programs and claims and manner of political activism. Most of political parties of national minorities participated at least once in the Parliament. During nineties these parties were mainly in opposition on national level (but won certain number of sits) and in power on local level in the areas where are concentrated. Political parties of national minorities gave great contribution to political changes in 2000. Electoral threshold for these parties has been canceled.
