摘要
In order to achieve energy coordination between surge protective devices ( SPDs), a decoupling element is applied. In general, an inductor is used as the element in electric installation. The load voltage in steady state can decrease to 95 % of the system voltage by installation of the decoupling element with the inductance of about 0.3 mH. When the lightning surge current is supplied, the peak value of the current and absorbed energy in the second SPD installed inside of the building were suppressed by the decoupling element. In case that the element with the inductance of 1 mH, the peak current and absorbed energy can be reduced to less than 10 A and 0.05 J regardless of the magnitude ofthe Iightning surge current.
