摘要
Over the past four years since full scale ozone bleaching has been implemented with several installations achieving success, the industry still questions the effects of ozone on pulp strength. Laboratory, pilot plant and mill data are provided on a broad range of pulp species to support the conclusion that ozone bleaching can produce pulp of excellent quality. This data concludes that ozone pulps are comparable to conventional bleaching sequences when the proper conditions are maintained, while at the same time providing environmental benefits and excellent closure opportunities. The continued success of the F-Bleach line in Franklin, Virginia, USA demonstrates the environmental value of a safe high consistency ozone based bleach plant. Ozone ECF or TCF sequences are recommended for minimum effluent bleaching to provide the lowest industrial impact on our worldwide habitat.
