摘要
Ulucak Hoyuk, near Kemalpasa in Izmir, is one of the most important sites in Western Anatolia for the Late Neolithic and Bronze Ages. A small group of pottery found in the excavations on the mound belong to the post-Bronze Age. Although this pottery assemblage was not found in a direct connection with any architectural context, they might be helpful to make a preliminary observation on the post-Bronze Age activities around the mound. Chronological time span of the pottery expands from the second half of the 7(th) to the mid-4(th) century B.C. Furthermore, a few Late Roman fragments are also included in the Ulucak Hoyuk pottery assemblage. The predominant sub-group is represented with Lydian (or of Lydian type) pottery and it is followed by sherds related with North Ionia and Aiolis as well as some Attic imports. Aim is that this study may help us to make a preliminary observation on the character of the post-Bronze Age site around Ulucak Hoyuk.
