摘要
Philip Larkin is the leading figure of "The Movement" and many of his poems present the relationship between men and women. This thesis takes Larkin's view of women as the starting point to analyze the significance and value of Larkin's poetry. Larkin's view of women covers his dilemma of misogyny and admiration of women. In a sense, Larkin's misogyny also bears his deep love for women. Moreover, Larkin's view of women reflects his resilient and protective love for the traditional English culture (Englishness) and also conveys his ideas of gender ethics. The essence of Larkin's gender ethics is the natural, harmonious and equal relationship between men and women.
