摘要
Nonlinear electro-optic effect in semi-parabolic quantum dot is investigated in present paper. The analytical expression of electro-optic coefficient is obtained by using compact density-matrix approach. Numerical results are presented for an GaAs/AlGaAs quantum dot and the results show that the electro-optic coefficient decreases with the increase of the semi-parabolic quantum dot quantum confinement. In addition, the peaks shift to the right of the curve with the increase of the confining frequency. The electro-optic coefficient is also related to the relaxation time. With the advances in nanofabrication technology recently, it is possible to fabricate such a semiconductor quantum dot. Therefore, one can get larger electro-optic coefficient by a advisable parameter and it is possible to get a better nonlinear materials in experiments.
