摘要
The whole world is moving towards digitalization via internet. And the internet world is ruled by cloud computing because of its simplicity and user satisfactory quality of service. Handling such a huge number of users and providing uninterrupted services is only can be done by live virtual machine migration (pre copy and post copy) in cloud data center. We know that pre copy migration degrades the application performance when memory transfer rate is higher than network bandwidth. And post copy migration also not able to give optimum performance because of high page fault. To achieve optimum performances during VM migration we propose a hybrid VM migration approach which is a combination of pre copy and post copy method through this paper. The approach basically uses push and pulls method for migration of VM. During migration process both the highly loaded and less loaded server participate to push and pull the VM. The main concept of the approach is highly overloaded server actively pushes the VM to less loaded server and the less loaded server also help the process by pulling the VM. The proposed migration process is simulated and the outcome is compared with existing live migration considering CPU uses, network, and memory as parameter. And by the comparison it is proved that the proposed approach really works better than the existing migration process in many scenarios.
