Fabric objective measurement technology in the textile and apparel supply chain

The technique of stepwise regression analysis identified two mechanical blocks (from a. total of six) which are needed to explain 99% of total hand value for winter suiting fabrics in terms of fabric smoothness/sleekness and fullness/softness. These two fabric mechanical blocks are surface and compression properties. For summer suit fabrics, three mechanical blocks are sufficient to explain the primary hand values of crispness, hardness and fullness/softness. These three fabric mechanical blocks are surface properties, tensile properties and bending properties.
