摘要
K4P2O7 and K6P4O13 are shown to be the most suitable solvents for flux growth of potassium titanyl phosphate (KTP) crystals. The phase fields of KTP in KTP-solvent pseudobinary systems are outlined. The equipment and procedure for growing crystals by the Czochralski method are described. The morphological characteristics of the crystals grown in the [100], [010], and [001] directions are presented. The highest yield of material suitable for practical application is ensured in the case of the [100] growth direction. Not only precision growth equipment but also relatively simple facilities can be used to grow large (50 cm(3) and larger) high-quality KTP crystals.
