摘要
Part of the renewable energy systems (based on solar radiation, wind or hydro energy) generates electricity intermittently, depending on the weather conditions that are difficult to predict and control. These disadvantages can be overcome by integrating two or more renewable sources, which can counterbalance each other. Therefore, to meet the required energy, the hybrid systems based on a combination of renewable energies are preferred. These systems are often used in remote areas, but, due to the variability of the renewable sources, their design and analysis is difficult to be performed. One possible option for remote areas is to add a micro hydro unit in parallel to the wind turbine, where a water stream is available. Two algorithms for the design of a hybrid energy system consisting of a hydroelectric power plant and a wind turbine are presented in the paper depending on the main renewable resource available onsite. The algorithms are exemplified on a case study: to select the appropriate hybrid system that provides the required energy for a guesthouse located in a remote area. Conclusions and recommendations are formulated regarding the design of hybrid systems of wind - hydro type.
