摘要
Improved varieties of perennial grass species, namely, Setaria vars. PSS-1 and S-92; Guinea grass var. HGP(2) Broad leaf Paspalum var. PS-I;, Napier-bajra hybrid var. NB-37; Kikuyu grass cv common; Rhodes grass var. Callide, Pangola grass cv local alongwith natural vegetation as a check were studied for persistency and productivity for five years i.e., 1999-2003 under natural rangelands in the cool sub-tropical and sub-temperate Himalayan region. On the basis of green fodder yield, dry matter yield, quality parameters and persistency, Setaria var. PSS-1 and S-92, and Broad leaf Paspalum var PSI were found superior for introduction in the rangelands of cool sub-tropical and sub-temperate Himalayan region.
