Don't bank on it!

The professional ethic cases dealt in engineering practices is discussed. It is suggested that a permission should be acquired by the project manager to construct a building and that the foundation laid by him should not extend to the property of the owner of another building. It is necessary for the bank to obtain permission to install the temporary tiebacks in the soils below the neighboring property and make a written comment to that effect in the design report for the project. It is also suggested that the project managers and the designers should learn lessons about the implications of constructing buildings before the beginning of the project.
