The article studies the foreign language educational environment of the university in the alternative reality context: globalization and digitalization, individualization of the student's education, his integration into the international professional environment. The authors update the concept of the "foreign language educational environment of the university"; determine its traditional and new components, and the basic principles. The authors sought to fill in the gaps in language training related to the organization of the entire process of foreign language training at the university; to consider its main patterns and principles that are changing in the process of reforming higher education now; to focus on those innovations that are necessary at present. The article describes an innovative approach to the foreign language training organization, which involves the integration of both traditional and new components, taking into account the goals, content, forms and format of training. The implementation of educational innovations in the modern context is possible if we approach it from the standpoint of creating an integral system - foreign language educational environment of the university, which consists of Core, Majors and Minors. Core is the basis of the new educational model at Tyumen State University (TSU); a unique basic program with a set of mandatory disciplines to immerse students in the learning process; the potential to build effectively an individual educational trajectory of the student. The article discusses the possibilities of maximizing the use of the foreign language educational environment of the university to improve the level of foreign language proficiency of students for their personal and professional development. The research topic is highly relevant and in demand in the field of higher education and may be of scientific significance. The authors of the article are participants in the educational process and have experience in teaching a foreign language, which allows them to continue studying the concept that promotes the introduction of an individual educational trajectory and to upgrade foreign language learning in constantly changing digital educational environment. The article presents the results of the study conducted at TSU, concerning the identification of a number of features of the individual educational trajectory implementation in the framework of training undergraduate students in Physical Education. The research methodology includes the theoretical methods (identification and resolution of contradictions, problem statement, and introduction of the authors' concept, systematic approach, generalization and concretization) and the empirical methods (study of literature and documents, monitoring, experiment: survey, description, measurement and comparison). The main results of the study reveal a number of significant problems in the organization of foreign language training in the context of digitalization, so the authors propose new options for designing the individual trajectory of the digital generation student in the foreign language environment at university.
