Three types of Ni-Mn layered double hydroxides with Ni/Mn molar ratio of 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 were synthesized by an oxidation precipitation method. The structure of synthesized samples were characterized by the powder X-ray diffraction, infrared spectrum and thermo gravimetric-differential thermal analysis methods. The results show that NiMn layered double hydroxides with different Ni/Mn molar ratios can be prepared by the oxidation precipitation method, and the obtained layered double hydroxides have a complete structure and single crystal phase. The hydrotalcite precursor is calcined at below 200 degrees C, which will not change its layered structure. If calcining at 400 degrees C or above, interlayer structure of hydrotalcite will be destroyed and gradually form a spinel phase.
