摘要
We present the results of a study of the scattering of massless planar scalar waves by a Born-Infeld black hole. The scattering and absorption cross sections are calculated using partial-wave methods. The numerical results are checked by reproducing those of the Reissner-Nordstrom black hole, and also using several approximations, with which our results are in very good agreement. The dependence of these phenomena on the effective potential, the charge of the black hole, and the value of the Born-Infeld parameter is discussed. (C) 2018 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
