摘要
Many characteristics of a multitude of objects can be presented in a statistical form. Statistical characteristics are viewed as a global characteristic of a multitude of objects in perception or isolated objects. Hypothetically statistical characteristics of a multitude may be linked to effectiveness of visual search. An experimental study was carried out on the material of visual search of an object according to size. The object of study was the dependence of the speed of search on similarity of the object size to the average or the modal size of the multitude. It was discovered that effectiveness of the search is not linked to global indicators, but is determined by local similarities to objects closest in size.
