Corporate governance - Why local government should manage its own agenda

摘要：
This article relates recent work on. corporate governance to the local government scene. It argues that piecemeal, externally-generated initiatives may not result in the most appropriate solutions. It calls on local government to take the lead, through the new Local Government Association, by launching a sector initiative based on the practical experience of those who know local government.
