摘要：

The range of functional communicative tasks that can be provided for learners is limited by the nature of the classroom situation. It involves mainly the sharing and processing of information. However, through the materials used, there is wide scope for varying the content and complexity of the language that is needed in the real-life world. This paper examines some aspects concerning task-oriented activities from the perspective of teachers who work with adult students and are faced with the dculty of choosing the activities that are best suited to help their learners acquire the necessary speaking skills that will allow them to handle real life situations.
