Chinese Housing Security in Rapid Urbanization Process

literatures of urbanization and housing security were reviewed. Main housing security issues in rapid urbanization process were discussed. The result shows that rapid urbanization leads to many informal populations and to serious housing security issues. Main factors of housing issues include latent excess-urbanization, over-commercialization of residential houses, defaults of housing reform, imperfect policy and legal system, and failure of governance and market. Some measurements were introduced to including specifying governments' responsibilities for housing security, establishing policy and law system of housing security, affording equal and affordable houses to informal residents, solving housing poverty, and adjusting real estate and housing polices.
