摘要
Software engineering education has constantly emphasized on the fundamentals of software development productivity. Software engineers joining an organization always need time for the ramp-up and knowledge transfer to understand the existing systems and processes; thus, productivity is uncertain. As software development evolves, new processes and methods of performing tasks also changes. Technologies have also been advanced throughout the years; thus, it is a challenge for software engineers to keep up with the current trends. In this respect, knowledge management plays an important role by preparing organizations with knowledge capture for sharing and future reuse. In this paper, we propose an organizational learning model for software engineers based on experience factory approach to manage the knowledge and experiences for software development projects. This model would bring significance benefits to software engineers as well as to the organizations by re-using previous experiences in future developments. Expert opinions have been collected to measure the importance of software development processes and the applicability of the aid tools as educational support. Results show that the model can bring positive impact to individuals and organizations by speeding up the learning curve, reducing effort, improving quality as well as productivity, and promoting active learning culture.
