Epidemiology of depressive disorders in childhood and adolescence - A critical review

摘要：
The present report critically summarizes the epidemiologic research on depressive disorders in children and adolescents that have been carried out in different countries over the past 15 years. Twelve studies using the standardized diagnostic interview schedules were evaluated and compared in terms of the prevalence and comorbidity rates, risk factors, and course and outcome of depressive disorders. Methodologic problems inherent in some epidemiologic studies in children and adolescents were discussed. Recommendations for future studies were provided.
