摘要
This paper develops a visualisation system for real-time behaviour-based agents in virtual environments. There have been several recent efforts to build autonomous characters with complex behaviour in virtual worlds. However, in general these projects were implemented and tested on specific graphics stations or networked virtual environments, which have a limited number of users except researchers in laboratories. Therefore, the visualisation system described here will focus on real time implementation methodology of intelligent agent behaviours on a PC platform with the Windows operating system. The system comprises two components. The first is a behaviour component, which allows sophisticated behavioural AI to be incorporated to produce complex behaviours for believable characters. The second is a graphics component that consists of a fruitful animation procedures library. Using this cost-effective system, users can interactively create intelligent agents in a simulated virtual world, these can be used for entertainment and educational applications.
