摘要
The Coma cluster of galaxies was observed with XMM-Newton in 13 partially overlapping pointings, with three of them reobserved because of a high proton background level. We present here the resulting X-ray maps in different energy bands and discuss the large scale structure of this cluster. Many point sources were found throughout the observed area, for some of them we give tentative identifications. We also present a temperature map and a hardness ratio map at the so far highest angular resolution. We discuss the variation of the temperature across the central cluster region in the light of recent merger activities.
