Reproduction and development: Main successes and perspectives.

This paper reviews the principal knowledge acquired during the last ten years in the field of reproduction and development of insects with different approaches : Ecology, Genetic, Physiology. The important biodiversity is put forward, as well as the stability of some mechanisms which are also found in other organisms, notably Vertebrates, concerning morphogenesis for example. Besides morphogenesis, another salient fact is the rediscovery of symbiosis and its role in organisms and insect populations.
