摘要：
According to the core-cladding interface of an ideal waveguide, a step-index fiber, the transverse plane has been divided into two regions. Mode fields and propagation constants of the graded-index optical fibers have been calculated by the use of partial-waveguide-mode expansion and coupled-mode theory.
