A novel flow injection chemiluminescence (CL) sensor for the determination of ergonovine maleate has been developed. Hexacyanoferrate(III) was immobilized electrostatically on an anion-exchange resin column and was eluted from the column using sodium phosphate solution as eluent. The sensor responds linearly to ergonovine maleate concentration in the range of 5.0 x 10(-3) to 1.0 mg /L with a detection limit ( 3sigma) of 2.6 mug/L. The sensor is stable for determinations 200 times and has been successfully applied to the determination of ergonovine maleate in injections and urine samples.
