Properties of star forming regions in early-type spiral galaxies

摘要：
Our on-going Halpha imaging survey has revealed early-type(Sa-Sab) spirals to be a heterogeneous class of galaxies. This diversity is also apparent in their H II region luminosity functions. We find that the diversity in star formation properties of Sa-Sab galaxies cannot be explained solely by a change in the total number of H II regions, or by a difference in the average number density of H II regions.
