Implementing TQM in graphic arts industry by six sigma - A case study

This research is mainly focused on the study of the of Indian graphic arts industry, its history, Current status, upcoming technologies and the feasibility of implementing six sigma in the Indian print industry. The phase one study was done by extensive reviews from various Sources such as publications from Ministry of Industry and Commerce (Govt. of India), AIFMP(All India Federation of Master Printers), PIRA, IFRA, GATF,INS (Indian Newspaper Society-India) and many other research publications on printing, TQM and Six sigma. This is a case Study based research to implement six sigma and was conducted at leading commercial press to reduce printing plate wastage. The DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control) model Was used during the six sigma implementation which was developed and implemented successfully in Motorola. Later a Study has been conducted to assess the feasibility of six sigma implementation in the Indian graphic arts industry by personal interviews and questionnaires.
