摘要
Traditionally, algorithms in distributed database systems were designed to reduce the volume of data sent over the network. With the evolution of high speed network, the propagation delays and local processing delays have replaced the transmission delays as the dominant factor in communication cost function. This requires a re-examination of many database issues. This paper examines some of the existing concurrency control protocols. To fully utilize the benefits of high speed networks, we propose a communication architecture for distributed concurrency control over high speed network. In this architecture, the concurrency control object ROLL is continuously cycling on a reserved channel. We also show that distributed query processing can benefit from this architecture by presenting a modified version of distributed domain vector acceleration algorithm.
