Comment on Wiretap Act in Japanese Criminal Procedure

Japanese government introduced three bills in 1998, which includes the Wiretap Act. In the next year, the act passed the legislature and took the most important role in criminal procedure. Although the new act is taken into practice, there are two questions in all cannot be neglected: is Wiretap Act really necessary? And then is it constitutional? To answer these two questions, this paper will put forward some comments on the new act.
