The development of China's non-bank financial institutions under WTO circumstances

China joining the WHO will bring unprecedented opportunities and challenges for the development of China's non-bank financial institutions. The first part of this article explores the gap between the development of China's non-bank financial institutions and international non-bank financial institutions. The second part includes a more general analysis and presents the reasons for a number of serious problems, which inhibit China's non-bank financial institutions from functioning adequately. Possible solutions to close the gap and rise to the challenge derived from joining the WTO are emphasized in the third part.
