摘要
The article is concerned with the prediction of heatlines and isotherms of a hot moving steel plate undergoing cooling process in presence of multiple spray-water jets, numerically. The simulation is carried out by modelling and discretizing the governing energy equations using finite volume method and the linear simultaneous equations are solved by tri-diagonal matrix algorithm (TDMA). The numerical code is developed in FORTRAN platform. In the computational domain, a suitable cooling region during moving of the plate is identified by analyzing the heatline distribution of the domain and its dependence on the process parameters is studied. The parametric studies on heatline reveal that the thermally unaffected zone decreases upon increasing the convective heat transfer coefficient and increases with the increasing plate velocity.
