摘要
In continuous cutting, adhesive is formed on the tool rake Face and cutting is continued while taking the form of adhesive as protective layers. At the beginning of cutting, both adhesive wear and abrasive wear of the coating film on the flank progress. On the other hand, in interrupted cutting, when the tool parts from the workpiece the adhesive formed on the rake face is removed and the coating film flake at the same time. With this repetition, tool wear progresses. Flaking can be restrained by reducing undeformed-chip thickness at the end of cutting.
