摘要
The air-liquid interface (ALI) in vitro exposure system is one of the ways of in vitro studies to assess the toxicity of particle matters. The determination of deposition efficiency of particles to cells in the ALI in vitro exposure system is required to obtain dose-response relationship. In this study we simulated particle trajectory in the ALI in vitro exposure system and calculated deposition efficiencies for particle sizes between 30 and 300 nm for 5 sizes. Further, we generated mono-disperse polystyrene latex particles and they exposed to transmission electron microscope (TEM) grid in the ALI in vitro exposure system, then we counted number of deposition particles by using TEM, and derived deposition efficiencies. Deposition efficiencies derived from both methods were consistent and our simulation results were validated.
