摘要
A Decision Support System (DSS) to plan solid waste management in urban areas is described. The DSS allows to optimise the flows among the various treatment alternatives of a solid waste system in a municipality, determining the overall strategy for solid waste management, while taking into account its environmental impact, as well as several normative, economic, technical and sustainable development issues. The optimization model has been applied to a specific case study, the metropolitan area of Genova, where refuse disposal represents a very critical problem. Copyright (C) 2001 IFAC.
