Vibrant Macromolecular Science at the 30th Australasian Polymer Symposium

The 30th Australasian Polymer Symposium (30APS) was held in Melbourne in 2008 December, where the vibrancy of contemporary polymer science was discussed. Dominik Konkolewicz examined through modeling the effect of the preparation method on the position of the end groups on hyperbranched polymers. Geoffrey Johnston Hall and Monteiro presented new insights into chain-length dependent termination processes through the use of living free-radical polymerization methods. Zhang and Stenzel addressed the preparation of spherical glycopolymers through the reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT), while Davis and Bulmus describe approaches to modify the end groups of RAFT made polymers. Bompart and Haupt summarize the current state of molecularly imprinted polymers, while McNally and colleagues review the current state for the preparation and characterization of polymer carbon nanotube composites.
