摘要
The article investigates the relationship between family cultural practices and school inequalities. The objective is to understand the reasons for school (in)success and its relationship with the unequal distribution of cultural capital. The hypothesis assessed assumes that the cultural capital of families and high school students at Escola de Aplicacao/UFPA has a decisive impact on the chances of school success. In order to analyze the family's cultural heritage, the study looks at the students' socioeconomic and cultural characteristics. It also uses the analysis of school reports. According to the results, the factors that most affect student performance come from family background, especially the mother's education.
