摘要
Schwarzer's Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) has been translated into 25 different languages and has been administered in several countries. GSES assesses personal global confidence to cope with new and stressing situations. The aim of this study was to analyze equivalence of the GSES with Mexican and Spanish samples. Two studies were conducted. The first analyzed psychometric properties of the items and the total scale. The results showed an alpha coefficient of .86 for the Mexican sample and of .85 for the Spanish sample. The second study provided evidence for theoretical similarity between the "general self-efficacy" construct and "self-control" and "self-monitoring" constructs among Mexican and Spanish samples.
