摘要：
This paper identifies the challenges encountered in the Integration of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Cost Estimating (CE) systems. Customers of ERP vendors traditionally implement the financial modules first, and so, there is a dramatic shift by ERP vendors to include CE functions to their systems to accelerate attaining meaningful results from their software. But when it comes to develop cost estimates at the early stage of product development cycle, ERP software has little to offer. The research reported in the paper is based on literature review and an industry survey. A semi-structured questionnaire is used to capture the experience of people in industry trying to integrate ERP and CE systems.
