摘要
Our objective in this work is to design a printed antenna that has at once a low profile, a wide bandwidth, and a high gain. In order to achieve this objective, we have based our study on the theory of Electromagnetic Band Gap (EBG) structures where the EBG structure is used as the ground plane of the antenna. The first part of this article describes the geometry and the performances of the printed antenna originally designed on classic ground plane. In the second part, we illustrate the results obtained for this antenna designed on ground plane based on EBG Mushroom-like structure. In the third part, we will give the results obtained for the antenna designed on ground plane based on a new EBG structure that has been proposed to fill the disadvantages of the EBG Mushroom-like structure. Finally, the last session draws a comparison between the results obtained, where the improvements brought by the novel EBG structure are illustrated.
