Electronic phenomena in chiral carbon nanotubes in the presence of a magnetic field

摘要
In chiral carbon nanotubes in the presence of an external magnetic field along nanotube axis an electron energy spectrum is asymmetrical relative to inversion of electron wave vector. Owing to this asymmetry, electronic proper-ties of the nanotubes are non-equivalent for mutually opposite directions; this results in a photovoltaic effect, a thermomagnetic effect and rectification of electrical current. A change of magnetic field results in oscillations of all nanotube electronic characteristics and the period of these oscillations depends on nanotube crystal structure, This paper presents the first theoretical analysis of these effects.
