Technology level as factor for determination of the competitiveness of Lithuanian shipbuilding

Shipbuilding is strategic important in many respects in the world. It develops advanced technologies, provides essential means of transport, contributes significant impact on economy, employs thousands well-skilled workers etc. Modem European Shipbuilding Policy announces that shipbuilding industry is one of key industries in the enlarged European Union. Lithuania hasn't National Shipbuilding Policy and any State support for shipbuilding exists in it despite of well-developed infrastructure. Competitiveness of Lithuanian shipyards depends on their technology level mostly. Key objective of the article is to identify the level of the Lithuanian shipbuilding technologies and to answer in which investments are likely to be more necessary.
