Mathematical analysis of electromagnetic stirring in electromagnetic continuous casting and experiment investigation

摘要
The paper has analyzed the Electromagnetic Nonconservative Force in the continuous casting by the mathematical method. Based on the formulae of Electromagnetic Nonconservative Force, the direction and the position of force as well as the relation between the force and the distribution of the electromagnetic field have been discussed in detail, which can help to recognize the matter of the Electromagnetic Nonconservative Force and provide some theoretical instruction to experiments. By the analysis it can be concluded that the Electromagnetic Nonconservative Force was induced by the asymmetry of the distribution of the electromagnetic field in the molten metal and the flow caused by the Electromagnetic Nonconservative Force is the precondition of improvement of structure and property of the cast. Experiments investigation has been taken on the A12024 so as to prove the effect of the electromagnetic field on the microstructure and its mechanical properties.
