Information technology and education in the information age

This paper attempts to gain an understanding of current and potential impact of information technology (IT) on education in the information age. First, it attempts to highlight that integration of information technology in teaching is a central matter in ensuring quality in the educational system. Next, it discusses about the benefits of information technology in education and presents some changes in education curriculum and their effects on "what" and "how" we want our students to learn. Finally, the article argues that the use of information technology in teaching process is changing the role of the teachers.
