摘要
Over the first weekend in May 2002, some forty scholars gathered int he ideal setting of Snorrastofa at Reyholt in Borgarfjordur for a Symposium in association with the international editorial project, Skaldic Poetry of the Scandinavian Middle Ages. Recurrent themes included the importance of the electronic edition within the editorial process and as a form of output; the relative merits of stemmatic and non stemmatic evidence; and the need for modern editors to respond flexibly to each skaldic text and its transmission history, faithful to the rich variety of skaldic diction, style and syntax, and open to the possibility that the picture of these giants of skaldic scholarship from Snorri Sturluson to Finnur Jonsson may be in some respect over-normative.
