THE STUDY OF INFLUENCING FACTORS ON WATER PERMEABILITY OF POLYESTER WEAVE FABRICS

摘要
In this study, the effects of fabric parameters on water permeability of polyester woven fabrics under constant water pressure were investigated. 75 denier polyester yams with circular and hexagonal cross-sections were used as warp yams. 75,150 and 300 denier polyester yams were used in weft. 75 denier weft yams have both circular and hexagonal cross-sections, 150 and 300 denier weft yams ave only circular cross-sections. Maximum weft densities were determined by weaving plain and 1/3 twill weaves with three different weft yams. These densities and 87,5% and 75% of them were taken as on-loom weft densities. During weaving warp and weft tensions were 10-20 cN and 24-30 cN respectively. All fabrics have been laundered at 40 degrees C and left on a flat surface to dry. It has been determined that the velocity of water under constant pressure, passed through samples during 180 seconds. The relationships between velocity values and weave factor, weft count, weft and warp densities, cross - sections and warp and weft tensions were analyzed statistically. It has appeared the warp and weft have no effect on water permeability values weave factor, warp and weft densities weft count and cross - sections of fibres were found that affected fabric water permeability.
