摘要
Teen Rehabilitation Centre (TRC) Institutes in Malaysia were established in order to provide facilities for juvenile delinquents in the self-healing process and vocational training that can be used in their new life. However, based on preliminary studies and literature the vocational training and Islamic practices taught in the TRC Institutes were unstructured and unsystematic. Thus, this situation affects the level of vocational training and Islamic practices mastered by the trainees and effectiveness of the TRC programs. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the integration of vocational training and Islamic practices implemented at the TRC Institutes in Malaysia. 104 respondents were randomly selected from the TRC Institutes that provide vocational culinary training involving trainees, managers, culinary trainers and Islamic practices' teachers. Data from questionnaires and interviews were analyzed and it was found that there was an integration between the vocational training and Islamic practices in the TRC Institutes (mu = 3.86). Based on the findings, researchers have produced the I-CuT model as the framework of the Islamic vocational culinary training for the TRC Institutes in Malaysia.
