摘要
A system for analyzing the dynamic drive scheme (DDS) of a cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) display is developed. The proposed method efficiently determines the transition properties of different stable states of CLC. The voltage differences among phases (preparation, selection, and evolution phases) are strongly related to the time integral. The analysis can be exploited to optimize the driving parameters of the DDS signal. Optimizing the DDS signal could reduce the frame time from about 1 s to less than 0.5 s for a CLC display with 800 x 600 pixels. This method for CLC has great potential to be used for color reflective bistable energy-saving display.
