摘要
This research is a practical study of the effect of using the fusible interlinings for improving the fabric crease recovery property. Two types of fusible interlinings were employed: a woven and a non-woven material; the interlinings were applied to different types of apparel materials with various types of fabric structures. The crease recovery test was applied to fused and non fused fabrics at different directions so that the test simulates the actual existence of crease deformation during use. Specimens were cut in five different angles including the two main warp and weft directions, these were: zero, 22.5, 45, 67.5 and 90 angles. The Shirley crease recovery tester was used to measure the crease recovery angle for all specimens according to the "BS". A comparison was made between the two types of interlinings; the effect of changing the test specimen direction was also considered. It was found that fusing with woven fabrics gives more support to apparel fabrics in general more than non-woven interlinings, It also was found that fabrics resist crease at the two main directions namely warp and weft more than other directions.
