摘要
The effect of surface roughness, wettability and bioactivity of titanium surfaces on peri-implant bone formation was studied. Chemically pre-treated and un-treated titanium implants were implanted in the frontal skull of domestic pigs to compare bone apposition based on Bone-Implant Contact (BIC) measurement. The Bioquant Osteo software V7.10.10 was used to determine the percentage of direct contact between the peri-implant bone and implant surface. The wetting behavior was similar to that found on CM-TS implants and chemical surface modification by HCL and NaOH improves the peri-implant bone formation around the implant compared to an untreated cp-Ti surface. A micro-roughened, hydrophilic and bioactive implant surface of CM-TS improves bone formation and reduces fibrous tissue formation around specimens implanted in the frontal skull of domestic pigs.
